We are the Northern Region Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service - a not-for-profit community organisation based in Lismore.
We are charged with the responsibility of ensuring the residents and visitors to our region have the best possible aero-medical heli-rescue service available to them when needed, free of charge.
For over 30 years, we have provided an aero medical rescue service to the region's residents and visitors. During this period we have flown more than 7600 life-saving missions. Currently the rescue helicopter averages 6-7 missions a week. Our on-duty crews are readily available at the Lismore Helicopter Base and are on call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We act as an integral part of the Northern Region Emergency Response system and enjoy a close working relationship with all other emergency services, particularly the Ambulance Service of NSW and the NSW Department of Health.
