captain rous mountain bike trails

The Captain Rous Park mountain biketrails offer trails (south and north side) and have been built to ride in a clockwise direction, roughly 3kms in total. Please be careful and always walk to inspect all features before you ride and never extend past your ability. The park also has a small playground, picnic tables and a carpark. (more)

Heritage Park is a paradise for kids (and a treat for their parents too!) with lots of cleverly designed play equipment, a water park and a wonderful little miniature railway that runs around the park.  (more)

A great toddler’s playground, adventure climbing zone, shared bike and walking paths and a basketball court and football field for ball games. There are also excellent BBQ and picnic facilities. (more)

Just near Lismore Shopping Square is another greening project where the community are actively involved in growing and harvesting fresh fruit and vegetables. There's a bush food garden in Riverside Park and a rose garden in Spinks Park. (more)

lismore rainforest botanic gardens

The gardens showcase rainforest species native to our local area. Take a picnic lunch and look out for koalas snoozing high up in the trees near the car park. It’s a great place for bird watching too. (more)

rocky creek dam

Rocky Creek Dam is a 29-square kilometre pristine water catchment area that's a perfect place for the kids. It has a platypus viewing platform, elevated boardwalk and pontoon bridge. You might spot a platypus frolicking, a goanna sunbaking, or a flock of cockatoos flying overhead at dusk. (more)

tucki tucki nature reserve and walking track

A great place to spot a koala in the wild, this four hectare reserve is dedicated to preserving the local koala population. (more)

wade park

With 5 hectares of parklands this is another favourite venue for family gatherings and a great place for kids to burn off some excess energy. There’s heaps of swings, slides and picnic shelters, plus a wheelchair-accessible playground featuring a ‘big red bus’. (more)
