Another
small village that is much ‘bigger’ than it first
appears, Dunoon is the “Macadamia Capital of Australia”.
A macadamia processing plant on the village’s outskirts offers
visitors a tantalising taste of world famous macadamia products.
Dunoon is the gateway to Rocky Creek Dam, which supplies much of the region’s
drinking water. Swimming is of course prohibited but Rocky Creek is a beautiful
picnic spot and there’s a fascinating nature walk across the dam
wall and into the forest.
