Let’s Take Pride in our CBD & Keep our Shop Fronts Clean. Lismore City Council will be undertaking more cleaning and it would be great if you can also help. Here are a few helpful tips that you might find useful:
- Ensure your Public Liability Insurance covers the footpath area and front of your shop.
- Take reasonable care when cleaning.
- Don’t clean during trading hours or busy times.
- Take care with any materials used for cleaning i.e. make sure materials are environmentally friendly and non toxic or just use clean water.
- When cleaning make sure you don’t create a nuisance to pedestrians or surrounding shops.
Council will be undertaking more cleaning as follows:
- Footpath Sweeping - 6 days per week (not on Tuesday) commencing 4:30am to 9am.
- Pressure cleaning of the CBD hotspot triangle on a quarterly basis.
- (Corner of Keen and Woodlark streets fronting food premises)
- Bin cleaning to be carried out once per week during normal business hours.
- Butt Bins cleaned and emptied once per fortnight.
- Gum removal to be carried out Tuesday mornings.
- Additional bin to be placed fronting the Night Owl in Woodlark Street.
- Additional bin to be placed between Lismore Square and the CBD.
Council Staff are also investigating new technology for footpath sweeping and footpath scrubbing.
