'Faces of Nimbin' is a community project that hopes to communicate some of the magic of Nimbin through the words and images of just a few of its people. These ‘snapshots’ offer a glimpse of Nimbin’s rich and colourful history and character. Faces aglow with warmth, wit and wisdom invite the viewer to look beyond the superficial stereotypes of the mainstream media and to explore and appreciate Nimbin’s truly unique lifestyle and culture.

I came to Nimbin with a group of friends for the Aquarius Festival in 1973. Immediately after that extraordinary experience, a group of us decided to pool our finances and buy a piece of land. (more)

How does a traveller get permanently caught in the Nimbin Experience? I left the UK in 2007 heading for Australia, other than that, I was winging it. My first stop was Brisbane, where I decided a 2nd year visa was probably important, so I spent 4 months outside Roma on cattle station. I highly recommend everyone does this at some point! (more)

We found our home nearly 15 years ago, a little picture in the paper that a dear friend showed us. My hubby, Dennis and I have lived nestled in our valley ever since. Here we are raising our 2 lovely children Finley and Liam and not a day goes by where we don’t find some wonder and amazement in this special little valley. I feel very blessed that our children can see the beauty of where we live and often comment on how lucky we are to live on this land. (more)
