, Back Creek, New South Wales 2480

This Northern Tableland property boasts a unique feature—a boundary that runs along the tranquil Tenterfield Creek. As you explore the landscape, you’ll encounter open creek flats that extend toward timbered hills and gullies, all nestled within the Donnybrook Range, which straddles the Queensland/New South Wales border.

The creek itself holds a special place on this property, housing one of the major waterholes on Tenterfield Creek. Its lower section is adorned with shallow rapids and small rocky pools, creating a habitat for native waterbirds and wildlife. Lucky observers have even spotted platypus in these waters.

Throughout the property, careful land management has led to sensitive clearing, resulting in areas of open woodland and pockets of dense tea tree and wattle scrub. When the season is right, you’ll be treated to a vibrant display of native wildflowers and flowering plants. Kangaroos and wallabies frequently grace the landscape, adding to the natural charm.

This location welcomes dogs, making it a dog-friendly destination. However, it’s essential to note that there are no on-site amenities. Campers are required to bring everything they need and adhere to a “leave no trace” policy, ensuring the preservation of this pristine environment.

This is a hosted stay through Hipcamp.
