Kellie O'Dempsey and Mick Dick

In search of transformation visual artist Kellie O’Dempsey generates accessible artworks that are experiential and emergent. Creating in both solo and collaborative formats, using coloured lines of light and animation this diverse practice interrogates notions of the public and the private. Kellie’s work includes installation and performance with projection, collage, architectural space and digital drawing.

Musician Mick Dick seeks textures and dynamics of improvisational soundscapes and twisted dub. Working with visual arts and contemporary dance his work is both mellow and metaphysical. Using retro analogue sound gear, custom-made bass instrument and audio sampling his work appears to alter time and space through a colourful and absurd palette of subtly and wonder.

Together Kellie and Mick create immersive works that invite the audience to engage directly with the visceral process of making. Combining light, sound and animation they attempt transform the familiar, manipulate space and stimulate shared experience. Performances include; Art after Dark, at the Biennale of Sydney, MONA FOMA, Museum of Brisbane and the National Gallery in Canberra.
