The Bentley Art Prize has been held annually at the Bentley Public Hall since 1985. “The Bentley” is a vehicle for emerging artists to showcase their talent to the wider community and sponsored by many organisations including the major sponsors Richmond Dairies, Casino RSM Club, Richmond Valley Council and Dr Castagna. All proceeds raised from the event go toward the upkeep of the Bentley Public Hall, a focal point for the Bentley Community.
The Bentley Art Prize is a community event that attracts all ages from surrounding districts, the attraction being the diversity of artwork created locally and from afar. The family orientated event has grown over the years into a great benefit for the Bentley Community.
The Bentley Art Prize has been coordinated by Helen Trustum since 2006, prior to which it was coordinated by Reg (1922-2012) and Phyllis (1923-2009) Hartley. The website content is managed by Bentley resident and Hall Trustee Ted Hoddinott and social media content is managed by Art Prize Coordinator Helen Trustum.
All proceeds to the upkeep of the Hall.

You can try your hand at many traditional crafts and see artisans at work. We’ll be celebrating and sharing traditional skills and survival crafts, holding talks and hosting workshops, demonstrations and presentations.

Our Musical Director, Ben van Kleef, is a qualified music teacher and conductor who expertly provides members with the skills, inspiration and motivation to play their best during rehearsals and concerts.

We rehearse during school terms. Come and listen, or sit in for a play with us. School students, and adults of all ages welcome. Instruments available for loan (and lessons available at the Con if you need them).

New brass, woodwind and percussion players are most welcome!
