In the Heart is a celebration of the daily maps created by foot traffic throughout the main streets of Lismore, maps that are marked by the laughter, fear and worry of those who live in or visit the area. The work reflects upon feelings of emptiness and vacancy, concentrating on the vulnerability of the manmade environment once it reaches its use by date, a stage where it is no longer something to be valued and admired, allowing space for nature to take root again.
