Lismore City Council and South Lismore Duck Pond Landcare invite you to an immersive event promoting urban biodiversity and wildlife conservation. Join us for a day filled with informative presentations, a showcase of native species, and a hands-on public planting session.

The morning will consist of expert presentations, where you'll have the opportunity to delve into crucial topics with seasoned professionals. Steve Maginnity from the Australian Bee Company will unravel the intricate world of bee conservation, highlighting the indispensable role of pollinators- even in urban ecosystems. Laura Noble from Clarence Valley Conservation in Action (CVCIA) will guide you through identifying and addressing challenges Indian Mynas pose, offering actionable insights into effective conservation strategies. Brendan Cox from River Ecology will expand your understanding of urban water health and underscore the importance of wetlands in maintaining ecological balance.

But the learning doesn't stop there. Step into the world of local bush regeneration with Patrick Lennon and the Crew from South Lismore Duck Pond. Patrick and the crew will share their expertise on managing weeds in urban and peri-urban areas, inviting guests to join them on a walk-and-talk tour of the South Lismore Duck Pond, where the fruits of onsite bush regeneration efforts will be showcased.

As you explore, be sure to visit Ngulingah Nursery's native species showcase, where a diverse selection of plants awaits. Discover how incorporating native species into your backyard can promote biodiversity and habitat conservation, while also beautifying your surroundings.

And what better way to put newfound knowledge into action than by participating in our public planting session? Join fellow attendees as you roll up your sleeves and contribute to enhancing urban biodiversity firsthand.
