festivals & events policy

The Festivals and Events Contributions Policy was adopted by Lismore City Council on July 12, 2011. The policy covers all events Council provides funding for except those managed by the Lismore Business Promotion Panel (LBPP) under the special rate, ceremonial/symbolic events such as Australia Day, ANZAC Day and community services events such as NAIDOC week.

The policy provides information about the range of incentives available to assist event coordinators minimise initial cost impediments when establishing or expanding their festival, event or activity. The level of funding is set annually by Council as part of its budget process. The types of cash and non cash assistance range from event facilitation; advice with event planning, partial or non partial payment of council charges; contribution towards event expenses; assistance with event promotion and management.

The application process is publicly advertised annually in July and fund allocations are determined in August as part of Council’s annual budget process. Events must meet the assessment criteria and complete a funding application which is detailed in the policy. To find out more download the Festival & Events Policy below.
