As part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations, the Star Court Theatre will host a special screening of KillJoy.
This event is proudly co-hosted in collaboration with Pamela Ashton, one of the original workers from the Lismore Women’s Refuge. The screening offers a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with an important chapter of local herstory and to acknowledge the women whose advocacy and resilience helped shape community support services in the Northern Rivers.
KillJoy explores themes of women’s voices, activism and social change, making it a fitting addition to International Women’s Day programming. The event invites reflection, conversation and shared understanding across generations.
Community members are warmly encouraged to attend. A small group of local volunteers will be supporting the event on the day, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive experience for all attendees.
The screening will take place at the Star Court Theatre, an intimate and much-loved local venue, providing the perfect setting for connection and conversation.
This event is open to the public and welcomes anyone interested in film, social history and celebrating the contributions of women in the community.
