With the Business Activation Plan, Lismore City Council seeks to enhance shared spaces and experiences in our town centres, and to boost promotions and support opportunities that benefit local business, events and community members. The Economic Development Team has developed this Plan for action with key stakeholders.
Guiding Special Business Rate Variation Levy expenditure in Lismore until June 2023 (replaces the previous Lismore Business Promotion Program), the Business Activation Plan also seeks to identify new funding and partnership opportunities for Nimbin and larger-scale activation projects. The purpose of the SBRVL funding is to ensure Lismore retains its function as a regional centre, with the revitalisation and promotion of the City Centre identified as being key to this objective. Financial control of the SBRVL funds, including all purchases on approved budget items, is retained by Council, together with auditing and acquittal responsibilities.
