The history of baseball on the Far North Coast appears to have started in 1922 when a teacher from Lismore High School, a Mr Harvey, made the first attempt to establish the sport. It was not until 1937 when a group of cricketers having a quiet drink after a game decided to play baseball in the winter to keep in form. There were four teams, which took part, including one each from Casino and Kyogle.   Games were played on Recreation Ground (Rec 4), now known as Humbley Oval. (more)
