Picnic by the River: Richmond RiverFest Closing Event

Riverside Park (by the boat ramp)

Victoria Street, Lismore, New South Wales 2480

Celebrate the river at Picnic by the River, the closing event of Richmond RiverFest. Pack a picnic and a blanket and settle in on the riverbank.

The day opens with a Welcome to Country, then watch the Nini Nahri-Gali Dancers, enjoy live music from Madi King and Uncle Billy, and sit and yarn and weave with Casino Wake Up Time and Jugan Dandii Weavers. Resilient Lismore will have the BBQ going or bring your own picnic lunch.

Bring your own kayak or canoe, or join a guided canoe tour up river. Paddle past riverbank trees planted by locals over many years, and see the Rainforest to Rivers project from the water. Canoe tour places are limited, so book ahead.

Picnic by the River marks the end of a month of plantings, paddles, talks and bioblitz sightings for Richmond RiverFest.

Richmond RiverFest and partners acknowledge and pay respects to the Elders and Custodians of Widjabal Wia-bal Country, and recognise their ongoing connection to the lands and waters.
